In-Kind Donations

To say that 2020 has been challenging is an understatement. The Delta community faced an unprecedented health crisis and was asked to stay home to flatten the COVID-19 curve. During this time, the staff of Delta Hospital could not stay home; they showed up to work everyday to keep the Delta community healthy and safe.

The Delta community responded immediately. During the past months, over 60 local restaurants, shops and individuals donated countless drinks, meals, snacks, and other goods to the dedicated Delta Hospital staff. This show of support and generosity was heartwarming and proved to the healthcare team that the community of Delta stands with them in a time of crisis.

“We were overwhelmed by the support from our community,” says Lisa Hoglund, Executive Director, Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. “At DHCHF, we were honoured to facilitate the outpouring of in-kind donations that came in for the hard-working staff of Delta Hospital and we can’t thank these businesses and individuals enough. This was a huge morale boost at a time when they needed it the most.”

In addition, the citizens of Delta took to their windows and driveways every night at 7pm to cheer and show their encouragement for the frontline healthcare workers. Some even showed up outside the hospital to show their support.

There is no doubt about it, Delta is a special place. This will be remembered as a time when the people of Delta came together in support of one another.
